The London EDITION Takes Over Guadalajara’s Guilty Bar

Three wild Hendrick’s gin cocktails by the award-winning team from their travels in Mexico

On a mission to share ideas with bartenders globally and promote all four of their bars—The Punch Room, Lobby, Basement and Berners Tavern—the masterful food and beverage team at the London EDITION Hotel ventured through a multi-bar partnership tour in Mexico. The goal was to explain how to develop four different, diverse programs under one roof but the end result manifested in uncommon, and delightfully unusual, Hendricks Gin cocktails. The trio began in Mexico City’s Barro Mexico and then Limantour. The following three were pulled from their menu at Guadalajara’s Guilty. Imagined by Lance Perkins, Davide Segat and Andy Shannon, the mixed drinks vary regarding the skills required to assembly them, but all are worth the effort.

BT Summer Cup

Incorporating the wondrous, 27 botanical deep Sacred Rosehip liqueur, the BT Summer Cup blends spice with citrus and sweetness. As dynamic as it may be,

there’s something about this cocktail that’s just refreshing and easy to enjoy.

35ml Hendrick’s gin

25ml Sacred Rosehip Cup Liquer

20ml lemon juice

20ml strawberry and cucumber syrup

Shake and strain. Serve in a coupette and garnish cucumber.

Inspector Gimlet

Simple and straight to the point, the Inspector Gimlet requires only two ingredients. And yet, with one of them being a riesling cordial, this isn’t a familiar tipple.

50ml Hendrick’s gin

25ml riesling cordial

Stir components. Served up with a lemon twist.

Bananalicious Sour

The Bananalicious Sour, as the name implies, draws inspiration from a traditional sour, only here, banana liqueur and a bit of green Chartreuse unite to enter unfamiliar territory on the palate. Egg whites, all frothed up, lend the concoction a creaminess that pairs well with the banana.

50ml Hendrick’s gin

15ml banana liqueur

5ml green Chartreuse

20ml lemon juice

15ml egg white

10ml sugar syrup

Shake. Garnish with pink pepper.
