Autodromo’s Supercar-Inspired Ford GT Owners Edition Chronograph
An exclusive, personalized wristwatch from the NY-based driving-oriented lifestyle brand
After a successful consumer-facing collaboration that drew inspiration from Ford GT models of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, New York-based design brand Autodromo has revealed another partnership with the iconic Detroit automaker. And this time, the timepiece is as exclusive as the vehicle itself. It’s really all in the name with the Ford GT Owners Edition Chronograph—a wristwatch inspired by the current GT’s material palette and design language and available only to owners of the car. With Autodromo’s meticulous detailing and care for materials, everything from the honeycomb dial to the crown and pushers make specific reference the supercar. Inside, a Swiss-made LaJoux-Perret 7773 flyback chronograph movement keeps it all ticking. Each watch can be personalized to match a GT owner’s unique vehicle through an online watch configurator before the timepiece is hand-assembled in Autodromo’s Dobbs Ferry warehouse.
Autodromo isn’t the only driving-oriented watch brand out there, but few come close to their overwhelming visual success. President and Creative Director Bradley Price offers us further insight on the collaborative piece. “When I designed this watch, I wanted to do something extraordinary, to pull out all the stops and achieve something on a whole new level that we have not done before as a brand,” he explains. “The idea of this watch was to capture the many fascinating details of the Ford GT and to create something wearable that speaks to the design and material language of this amazing supercar.” Price succeeds, as expected, and the results will surely be sought after by owners—and admired by others.
